A charming, relaxing, beautifully restored 18th century farmhouse in the Limousin countryside of mid-west France.
Situated next to the house is a beautiful woodland valley leading to the river Gartempe. There are many walks directly from the house, which range from an easy stroll to an all day hike, in which wild mushrooms can be picked. There is an abundance of wildlife, and buzzards and red kites are often seen soaring over the house along with the occasional sighting of the rare black kite and the exotic hoopoe. It really is a bird watchers paradise.
Details: A charming, relaxing, beautifully restored 18th century farmhouse in the Limousin (87) countryside of mid-west France. Our guesthouse (bed and breakfast) is situated only 10 to 15 minutes drive from the A20, in the tiny hamlet of Lascoux, close to the historic towns of Châteauponsac and Bessines-sur-Gartempe and just 34 km from Limoges. We offer 2 spacious, comfortable, fully-equipped, en-suite rooms. Tea/coffee making facilities are provided in each room and continental breakfast included in all the prices. The dining room, library/lounge, private garden, courtyard are available for use by our guests.
We delight in our cooking and use only fresh local ingredients and our own home grown organic vegetables and herbs. Breakfast, lunch and evening meals are available from a varied menu, prepared by Helen who trained as a chef. Vegetarian options are always available and happily provided.
The Limousin area offers many activities ranging from horse riding, golfing, all levels of country walking/rambling, fast water canoeing, fishing for trout or carp or simply browsing around numerous art exhibitions, brocantes, local markets and towns, châteaux and museums.
