Details: Beautifully restored and sympathetically modernised and extended, Coeur de Chene offers a wonderfully relaxed self catering holiday. The new living room is triple aspect with a high vaulted ceiling and contains a wood burner, a 3 seater and a 2 two seater sofa, TV with free to view BBC channels, Video, CD player, a selection of books, Videos and CDs. The Kitchen/dining area is in the original cottage and has fully fitted modern units with electric hob, fan assisted oven, extractor fan, fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, toaster, cutlery, crockery and utensils. There is a table which seats 6.
The downstairs bedroom has twin beds with bedside cabinets, set of drawers, clothes hanging space and has an adjoining family bathroom which also contains a washing machine, iron and ironing board.
The main spacious double bedroom is upstairs and has a vaulted ceiling with exposed oak beams, wardrobes and chest of drawers, period chair to enjoy the views from and an en suite shower room with basin and w.c. There is also a lovely small separate single bedroom with views over the garden
The house is detached and stands in an acre of land, there is a large patio area leading into the garden and it contains a bench seat, 2 picnic tables, BBQ, an ornamental but functioning well and washing line. The nearest town to Coeur de Chene is Chateaubriant which contains a wealth of historical and beautiful places to visit. The Tourist board there publish a booklet every summer containing ideas and information about all the events taking place. Activities include 18 hole swin golf, croquet, archery, waterskiing, karting, paint-ball, bowling, paragliding, swimming, sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and boating. It is also an ideal place for trekking, cycling and horse riding. There are 4 riding centres within reach.
If after all that activity you are too tired to cook, choose from one of the 21 restaurants within 30 minutes drive for a wonderful evening meal. The regions offers beautiful lakes, rivers, markets, fetes and if you really are easily bored, you will be within an hours drive from Nantes, Rennes, Angers and the Atlantic coast. The famous Foire de Bere (country show) which has been held in Chateaubriant since 1050 is from 10th to 13th September and not to be missed.
