Details: Behind the Tower is a holiday apartment in the city centre of Pisa, in Tuscany, only few steps away from the Field of Miracles. The top of the Leaning Tower, of the Cathedral and of the Baptistery are visible from the bedroom windows.
The apartment is ideally located to visit the city: it is easily reachable by bus from the airport and the central railway station with a very short ride (10/15 min.) and, in approximately 20 minutes, by simply walking from the central train station.
This makes Behind the Tower the perfect rental for a city break in a beautiful University town as well as for longer stays. It allows you to take advantage of the many low cost airlines' offers to fly to Pisa and Tuscany.
Behind the Tower can accommodate up to 3 people and it is available both for short-term rentals of minimum 3 days and for long-term rentals of maximum 6 months.
A car is not absolutely necessary: the city is very well connected by train or bus to many places of interest, such as Florence, Lucca, Siena, Cinque Terre, Volterra, Genova and many more. Moreover, we offer a pick-up service at the airport free of charge to make your holiday in Tuscany even cheaper!
Behind the Tower is in a very lively area, full of shops, bars and restaurants, which will ensure an unforgettable holiday.
Behind the Tower is made up of three rooms: a kitchen with sitting area, a large bedroom and a bathroom.
It has central heating for the winter months and fans for the summer months.
It can comfortably accommodate 4 people.
The kitchen is fully equipped to allow our guests to prepare excellent meals with the fresh ingredients bought at the supermarket just around the corner or at the vegetable market in the medieval heart of Pisa.
The kitchen contains a gas stove with a gas oven, refrigerator, toaster, electric kettle and filter coffee maker, microwave and washing machine.
The table can accommodate up to 4 people. Cutlery, crockery, pots and pans as well as kitchen towels are provided.
Guests of Behind the Tower will also find "the basics for cooking": salt, sugar, some spices, coffee, tea and olive oil and vinegar are at their disposal in the cupboards.
The kitchen has a sitting area where the guests can relax while reading a book or drinking a good glass of wine.
The sofa is a comfortable double sofabed.
Upon arrival, guests who spend a full week at the holiday rental will receive a welcome basket with essential food items and local products.
The bedroom can be arranged as a double bedroom or as a twin bedroom. A third bed is available and it can be placed either in the bedroom or in the kitchen.
The bedroom has a large wardrobe, shelves and a chest of drawers to allow guests to comfortably organize their luggage.
In the bedroom there is also a desk with a table lamp, which can be useful for exchange students or visiting scholars to the University of Pisa or to the University Hospital Santa Chiara.
Bed linen is provided and changed on a weekly basis. In the bedroom, our guests will also find an alarm clock and a cd player.
The bedroom window looks over the main street leading to the Field of Miracle and the top of the Leaning Tower and of the Baptistery are visible behind the ancient city walls.
The bathroom is brand new and it has cabinet shower, bidet, WC and sink. Hot water is available throughout the house. Hairdryer and towels are provided.
Behind the Tower also a has a small balcony in the kitchen with a clothesline and a closet for cleaning supplies, iron and ironing board. The balcony overlooks a private courtyard and it is very quiet.
We provide informational material and a map, which can be found in the sitting area. The tourist information office is, however, very close, and there you will be given all necessary information.
Behind the Tower is only few metres away from the nearest bus stop which connects the major touristic sites to the central train station and the airport. It is therefore very conveniently located to visit Pisa and many other famous cities in Tuscany.
For its central location, close to all major attractions and to the University area, the apartment is surrounded by many different types of shops (food stores, wine shops, clothes shops, newsagents, tobacconists, etc.) and it is conveniently located to reach the location of the city outdoor market (open on Wednesday and Saturday). Moreover, in the area there are many restaurants and bars and all necessary services (banks and bank machine, emergency room, pharmacy, parking lots, internet points, telephone booths, etc.). We will be happy to provide you with all the necessary information relative to the services available nearby, as well as with a list of recommended restaurants and attractions.
The Pisa city centre is quite small and it can be easily explored walking or biking. It is possible to rent a bike close-by. Guests can keep their rental bike indoors in the private staircase at street level.
Behind the Tower is an excellent base both to explore the city and to explore the surrounding area and the other major centres in Tuscany, such as Florence, Lucca, Massa Carrara, Volterra and Siena.

Rates / Pricing Information: The short-term rental price includes:
small gift basket containing local products (only for weekly rentals)
bedroom linen, kitchen and bathroom towels (changed weekly)
final cleaning

disount at an internet café in the city centre
pick-up service at the airport or at the train station
The short-term rental price does not include

Check-in between 3pm and 6pm. Generally possible any day except for Saturdays. It is possible to alter the arrival time given advance notice.
Possibility to check-in and check-out on Saturdays exclusively upon request.
On the day of departure, the apartment must be vacated by 10am.
Pets are welcome. Guests are responsible for any damages to the apartment and furniture.
A sum equal to 50% of the total rental price must be paid at the time of reservation. The remaining 50% is to be paid in cash at the time of arrival.
Upon arrival, guests must leave a security deposit of 100 euros which will be returned at the time of departure provided that there is no damage to the premises.
In the case of a cancellation of a confirmed reservation a cancellation fee will apply.
Cancellation up to and including 45 days before arrival date: 30% of total agreed upon price
Cancellation less than 45 days before arrival date: 50% of total agreed upon price
