enter la chene through a beautiful arched doorway into the tiled hallway with fabulous granite & wrought iron staircase.the living room has a wooden floor & a luxurious leather suite. the dining room has a wooden floor & large oak table & chairs. the kitchen has a tiled floor and numerous storage & display cupboards & is equipped with cooker, hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, coffee maker, toaster, crockery & cutlery. up the granite stairs is a shower room & separate toilet. a long tiled hallway gives access to the 4 bedrooms the largest with en-suite facilities. 2 rooms offer a double bed & 2 rooms offer 2 twin beds. all room are tiled and have storage units. all rooms are south facing and windows are equipped with remote controlled shutters which can totally block out all light if required.
outside you have table, chairs, parasol & barbeque. just a few steps away is the large family sized pool measuring 11m x 5.5m, big enough to play in or swim lenghts. the pool is surrounded by a paved terrace with many sunbeds for you to relax & enjoy the sun.the garden has many fruit trees & you can help yourself to the fruits.
la chene is the ideal base to explore the cathare region with numerous stunning examples of castles, churches, caves & ruins. the most special is the magnificent cité de carcassonne, a medieval walled city in everyday use and a must to visit.
