Full Description of Holiday Rental Property: Pommard is a bustling wine village situated just on the outskirts of the medieval town of Beaune, the heart of the Cote d’Or. Our modern ground floor apartment is located in a beautifully renovated 17th century carriage inn. Chosen for it’s location in one of France’s most famous wine villages, the property adjoins the famous Chateau de Pommard, whose recently restored gardens are open to the public. A stay in our apartment, with the boulangerie (bakery), epicerie (grocery store), café, and restaurant literally steps from the front door, offers a true taste of Burgundian village life. Just two hours from Paris by train, this location is a perfect vacation destination for lovers of wine and the beautiful countryside in which it is produced. And because of proximity to the train station in Beaune (2 miles) and the autoroute (2 miles), Pommard provides an ideal base from which to explore other parts of France and Europe.
Property Details:
The main entrance to Le Clos de Pommard is just a few steps from the private gated parking area, where there is reserved space for one car. Guests bringing additional vehicles may park them close by in the town square.
The focal point of this two-bedroom apartment of approximately 1000 square feet is a light-flooded great room, designed with three living areas:
· The kitchen is fully-appointed with oven, range, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, washer/dryer, and a breakfast bar perfectly suited to enjoying your morning coffee and croissants. Those who love to cook will have all the necessary equipment to do so, including cookbooks in both English and French.
· The comfortable sitting area includes a flat screen T.V. with stereo, DVD and CD players. After a day of wine tasting or sightseeing you can relax with an assortment of movies, both current and classic.
· The dining area is situated on the sunny, street side of the room and features a substantial table that seats six quite comfortably: An ideal place to enjoy a meal made from the delicacies you select at one of the local markets.
In the Master Bedroom , you will find yourself sleeping beneath the original 16th century Burgundian-beamed ceiling. This room features a comfortable queen bed and a modern armoire with plenty of drawer and hanging space for clothing. French doors lead to a semi-private enclosed patio.
The airy 2nd Bedroom features an ultra-comfortable queen sleeper sofa-bed. Located in the oldest part of the original building, this light-filled room is also an ideal spot for curling up with a good book or an afternoon nap.
The modern, spacious main bathroom includes a shower/tub combination, sink with vanity, and toilet. No need to bring a hairdryer, as one is provided for your use.
An additional half bath, with toilet and small sink, provides a little extra comfort and privacy for a family or two couples traveling together.
Do not think that Burgundy is reserved solely for wine connoisseurs and lovers of art and architecture. Visitors have a choice of activities as varied as the region's landscapes. With so much to see and do in this year-round destination, one stay is never enough! The so called 'Land of Art and Good Living', Burgundy offers you prestigious vineyards and wines, historical cities, famous sites (many World Heritage), golf and an interesting boating and walking network, all with in a well preserved natural setting.

How to get here: Pommard can be reached easily from many destinations.
Travelling in central France is made easy by excellent road and rail links.
The A6 autoroute which links Paris and Lyon, passes close to Beaune. You can exit/join the A6 at Junction 24.1 which is just a few minutes drive from Pommard.
The A6 also gives access to routes north to Paris and Calais, south to Lyon and the southern coast of France and also links east to Switzerland and Germany and beyond.
The TGV (high speed train) is found at Beaune. Trains to Paris centre or Charles de Gaulle Airport and also Lille (for Eurostar connections to London) depart from Beaune. The nearest airports are: Lyon St.Exupery, Paris Charles de Gaulle & Orly, St Etienne, Clermont Ferrand and Geneva
