Full Description of Holiday Rental Property: Gîtes de France official rating – 3 épis.
Situated 25 km south of Tours
This unique farmhouse is set in 100 hectares although away from the working farm buildings. Originally built in 1900, it has been tastefully restored and retains charm and character along with many original features. The accommodation is both comfortable and spacious for up to 10 people + infant and enjoys the benefit of a large private terrace and enclosed meadow, equipped for outdoor dining, games and relaxation. The Farmer owners live 1 km away and are hospitable without being intrusive; they welcome farm visits and can offer a variety of farm produce. The pretty little village of Ste Catherine de Fierbois is within walking distance, where you will find a boulangerie, a bar/restaurant and a village shop. With Villandry, Chinon and Loches all within 30 minutes drive this is an ideal location for visiting the famous Loire Valley chateaux and vineyards whilst enjoying rural France.
Situated 25 km south of Tours and the river Loire, 18 km from Azay le Rideau, and only 1km from The Courtineau tourist Valley (renowned for its troglodyte houses).
The nearby market town of Ste Maure de Touraine is 5 minutes by car and has a variety of shops, restaurants and bars as well as a lively outdoor market held once a week where you can buy local produce, including the highly acclaimed goats cheese of the region. Tours has a wealth of museums, art galleries and cultural events. The old quarter with its cobblestone streets, half-timbered houses and quaint shops offers a wide variety of restaurants, cafes and street entertainment.
Azay-le-Rideau, Villandry, Saché, Rigny-Ussé, Chinon and Fontevraud Abbey
are all within 30 minutes drive.
Valencay, Chaumont and Chenonceaux château – in one hour or less.
For something different Futuroscope at Poitiers is of interest to all age groups and only 1 hour by car as is The Haute-Touche-Animal Park at Obterre, The Loire Valley Aquarium–Lussault-sur-Loire and The Natural Regional Park of Loire-Anjou-Touraine.
Vineyards in the region include world famous Chinon, Bourgueil, Saumur and Vouvray; all welcome visitors and offer free wine tasting.

* Large kitchen fully equipped for 12 people including a huge farmhouse dining table, high chair, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine.
* Comfortable sitting room with wood burning fire 2 sofas, comfy armchairs colour television, video
* Large bedroom with queen-size bed, ensuite shower room and w.c.
* Games room with billiards and table tennis.
First floor
* 2 double bedrooms one of them has en-suite shower room.
* 2 twin bedrooms
* Separate Bathroom and wc
* Baby’s cot provided
Linen/towels provided and all beds are made up. Electric central heating is included up to 8 kW per day, higher consumption (normally only in winter) is charged at the metered rate.
Firewood provided for log fire during cooler months.
If left as found there is no cleaning charge, but if you prefer to relax the cleaning fee of 50 Euros is payable on departure.
Outside
* Private 3000 sq. m enclosed meadow, Terraces front and back, both with garden furniture /loungers, providing the opportunity to enjoy the sunshine throughout the day.
