Full Description of Holiday Rental Property: Le Petit Montnomme is a character property retaining many original features - bread oven, exposed stone walls, wooden beams, wood stove in large fireplace, tiled ground floor and its own well water. Rooms are large with high beamed ceilings and antique french country style furniture.
Just a few minutes walk away, you can eat good local produce at the Ferme Auberge or order a take away! Visit the local vineyards or go boating on the nearby waterways of the Marais Poitevin (Green Venice). Many activities are available locally - swimmimg, walking, cycling, fishing, golf, sand yachting and more.
There are shops and bars in the village of Vix only five minutes away by car. Marans, a ten minute drive, has a swimming pool, good restaurants, a covered market, marina, shops and supermarkets.
Fontenay-le-Comte is a large town , worth a visit and can be reached in twenty minutes by car. The Mervent Forest, just north of Fontenay has a swimmimg lake, wind surfing, jet skis, picnic areas, children's play areas and restaurants.
Ideally situated for the Grand Park of Puy du Fou - a medieval village with night time spectacular Cinescene, Futuroscope technology park near Poitiers, the Loire chateaux and seaside towns of Les Sables d'Olonne (start of the Vendee Globe yacht race), La Tranche sur Mer and Longville sur Mer.
La Rochelle and the West coast Atlantic beaches are less than an hour's drive. Also Ille de Re and Ille d'Aix.
Le Petit Montnomme is set in private grounds of over an acre with extensive grassed areas and a variety of trees providing shade and fresh fruit - plums, cherries, apples, walnuts, mulberries, figs, pears - in season.
There are terraces at both the back and front of the house which face West and East respectively, providing the opportunity to sunbathe throughout the day (weather permitting!).
Garden furniture, a children's inflatable paddling pool and cycles (adult) are available.
A gas bar-be-que is situated on the front terrace.
Ground floor accommodation includes a large entrance hall with open fireplace and woodburning stove (for winter use only). Sitting room with large window looking out onto the orchard. Antique buffets, settee, armchairs, coffee table, dining table, single bed settee and electric heater. Radio/CD player and satellite TV.
One large double bedroom with kingsize bed and French doors opening onto rear terrace. Electric heater. One bedroom (chambre d'amis) with two single beds accessed from the drive. Electric heater.
Stunning kitchen (50m2) with French doors opening onto the front terrace. Large refectory table (seats 10-12). Facilities include a fridge/freezer, electric/gas cooker, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, coffe maker, pans, crockery and cutlery.
Two bathrooms - both have a shower, one also has a bath.
Utility room with washing machine.
Hallway with linen cupboard and stairs leading to first floor bedrooms - both have double beds, one also has two single beds.
There is a third toilet and wash basin between the bedrooms.
A travel cot and high chair are available on request.
Bed linen and towels are provided at no extra charge.

How to get here: From la Rochelle airport (30 mins) follow signs for Nantes/Niort/Marans. Then take direction Fontenay-le-Comte but turn off at Montnomme.
From St.Malo ferryport (3-4 hours) follow signs for Nantes/Niort(A83). Leave A83 at junction 8 and take direction La Rochelle but turn off at Montnomme.
