Full Description of Holiday Rental Property: The house is a pretty and characterful 19th Century Quercy styled house, lovingly restored to a very high standard and furnished to a high specification. Clad in Virginia Creeper, the house is in a tranquil and rural location in an unspoilt part of France.
There is a 10m x 5m private, outdoor, heated swimming pool with terraced area, completely enclosed and alarmed together with large gardens, a patio, a barbecue area and an arbour for outdoor dining.
The house is situated on the edge of a tiny hamlet, Laval, far away from any busy roads with lovely views of the surrounding countryside on the plateau of the Causse de Limogne. Laval is 5km from the nearest village, Lalbenque, and about 20 minutes from Cahors.
Downstairs:
A top of the range fully fitted American style kitchen/dining room with dishwasher, large fridge, oven, hob and microwave. It is heated with an attractive wood burning stove.
A double bedroom, a fitted bathroom with bath, bidet and sink; a separate WC; a storage room; a utility room with separate entrance with a washing machine/tumble dryer.
Upstairs:
An extremely attractive large living room with wood burning stove and exposed ceiling beams, and a TV and DVD and a cd player; double bedroom with views over the open countryside; a bedroom with bunk beds; a shower room with WC; a reception room/4th bedroom. This room adjoins the living room and opens out on to the stone steps that lead down to the patio and garden. It can be used as an extra living area or a bedroom for 2 people with a sofa bed.
What we Provide in the House
The house is furnished to a high specification. Besides the items listed above, we provide the usual kitchenware items including cutlery and crockery for small children and babies, plastic bib, steriliser, training beakers, a highchair, and a baby listening device.
We also provide a cot with baby sheets and blankets, baby bouncer/seat, changing mat, a toddler step and toilet seat, as well as indoor toys and games for all ages, DVDs and books for all ages.
We provide hair dryers in the two double bedrooms, linen and bath towels, but not pool towels.
There is a lockable door at the top of the internal stairs.
For outside, we provide a sun tent, cricket set, football, badminton set, tennis set, boules, and a croquet set. We also provide a baby swim raft, a play pen for the swimming pool, and pool inflatables.

A large patio/courtyard area leads directly off the kitchen with outdoor dining table and chairs in the shade of the trees (top photo).
The plateau lies between the Rivers Lot and Aveyron, making both easily accessible. The rivers cut through limestone, forming spectacular cliff scenery. Numerous villages cling to the cliffs. St Cirq Lapopie (top right), close by on the Lot, is one of these and regarded by many as one of the prettiest villages in France.
