Full Description of Holiday Rental Property: Django's Castle sits high looking to the sea in the south and across farmland to the hills of Monchique in the north. The panorama from the roof terrace is stunning. Yet this quiet rural setting is only 1 mile from Lagos centre, the last unspoilt Algarvean town with its un-crowded beaches, marina and famous fish restaurants. Easy access to the West Coast surf beaches adds to the choice for family swimming and surfing. The rural Alentejo region of 'old Portugal' with its cork trees and rolling agriculture is north of the Monchique hills. Lagos is close and central to five of the Algarves finest golf courses.
Lagos is now connected by motorway giving a journey time of about one hour from Faro Airport.
More of a comfortable family home than a 'wedding cake' villa, Django's Castle sleeps 10/12 with 2 doubles. 2 twins, 2 singles and 4 bathrooms. Two further beds can be made up in the big apartment lounge area. The house was completed in 2002, built by a local builder to a high standard under the personal supervision of the architect owner.
The house layout is ideal for family groups with two large air conditioned* bedrooms, a large self contained air conditioned* ground floor apartment with a lounge, shower room and two singles as well as a twin bedded air conditioned* pool house with full facilities. For comfort all the beds have mosquito nets. There are four seperate terrace areas including a large roof terrace for serious sun worshippers which enjoys cool summer breezes and a panoramic view. There is plenty of space and privacy.

The free heated pool (9m x 4m) is on the main floor level and has a safe shallow area for toddlers, a children's slide and an underwater pool light. There are gates to prevent toddlers getting poolside.
The house is split level with terraces on the main level, including a sun shaded area next to the pool with a barbecue, planter, sun beds, chairs, sun umbrellas and a hammock. The rear garden has a childrens swing, sand pit and a climbing frame. On ground floor level is an old well and sitting area. There is a roof sun terrace with panoramic views and sun beds, chairs and a table. There is plenty of car parking space.
ACCOMMODATION
THE MAIN HOUSE On one level of about 120m2 comprising.
A master double bedroom with views to the sea. An ensuite bathroom with double bath.
An en-suite twin bedroom with french windows to the rear garden. The lawned rear garden is toddler secure and has a terrace, swing, climbing frame and sand pit.
The large lounge has an additional coffee area with panoramic views and dining area with doors to the main terrace. Sat TV and CD player. The main terrace has a large table and sun cover.
The fully equippped kitchen with a dish washer, microwave, gas cooker, toaster and fridge.
A laundry with washing machine with a french window to the rear terrace with a drying carousel.
A guest toilet with hand basin.
Stairs lead down to the APARTMENT - (62m2)
Large sitting room with views to the sea and Monchique hills and french windows leading to a private terrace which serves as a private entrance.
Dining table and chairs. Sofa.
Kitchenette with microwave, electric hob, toaster, kettle, fridge.
Main double bedroom with double bed, wardrobe, dresser. Views to Monchique.
Two single bed areas - the Navigators Cabin with panoramic views to Monchique and the Captains Cabin with a porthole and views to Monchique.
Very large shower room with wc and handbasin.
The apartment can be closed off from the main house by means of a door on top of the stairwell.
THE POOL ROOM - (30m2)
The pool room is seperated from the house by a covered terrace with traditional tile features.
It has twin beds, a kitchenette with microwave, fridge, toaster, and a breakfast table and chairs.
Large en-suite shower, wc and handbasin.
OUTSIDE
The free solar heated pool (9m x 4m) is on the main floor level and has a safe shallow area for kids and a childrens slide. From mid May until mid September the pool temperature is usually in the range of 28-30degC. Much warmer than the Atlantic Ocean but dependent on the Algarvean sunshine.
BITS AND PIECES
We cater for families so cots and high chairs are available and we supply childrens cot bedding at no extra charge. We have a baby bath. A backpack for carrying tots. Also we have cutlery and crockery for little people as well as unbreakable plates and cups. There are childrens books and some tots toys. The sat TV has CBeebies and a DVD/CD player. The laundry is large with good workspace. There are also some board games. Around the house are book cases with a variety of paperbacks which cater for most holiday reading.
The owners live nearby and are on hand to meet you and give you as much or as little assistance as you need to enjoy your holiday and the local area. We make sure the house is clean and ready for your arrival together with flowers and a basic 'welcome pack' of basic drinks and food. We are always here to meet you whatever time you arrive.
During your stay we normally give you a weekly weather forecast and give advice on places to visit or local events. Just drop in and see us - we are there to help in any way including unforseen events. We also arrange odd events like birthday cakes, weddings etc. We also have a local masseuse and beautician as well as an excellent visiting hair dresser on call if you desire. Want a barbecue service or live music - we can arrange it. Just ask.
The pool is cleaned twice a week and we change towels and bedding on the Saturday
HOW TO BOOK YOUR HOLIDAY
Normally we will be in contact by Email or telephone. A personal service. At this time we can answer any questions, book any special requirements and discuss the accommodation layout best suited to your party.
We will Email confirmation of your booking together with car hire details and the date for your final payment.
After this all that is required is that you fill in the BOOKING FORM and post us a Sterling cheque for the deposit.
NOTES
Prices quoted are for 10/12. Early booking and 'small party', discounts available. Air conditioning (main and garden rooms, apartment lounge and pool room) £20 per room extra per week. All bookings start on Sat. We ask for £50 refundable damage and key deposit. Solar pool heating no charge (sun dependant).
Car hire is strongly recommended. We normally arrange your rental cars for your arrival at Faro airport. During your stay we will give you information on the very economic local taxi service for those evenings when no driver wants the short straw. For teenagers there is a regular cheap bus service from the end of the road which goes to the centre and back. Journey time is 7 minutes.
Changeover day is Saturday. The villa is available from 2.30pm on the day of arrival to 10.00am on the day of departure to allow a thorough cleaning between lets.

How to get here: How to find Django's Castle
Django's Castle is situated on the urbanisation of Monte da Altura, Falfeira, just off the main EN120 road, 1km north of Lagos and about 65km west of Faro airport.
From Faro airport take the motorway west. Drive about 60Km past Portimao towards Lagos. on the A22 Motorway.
Take exit marked Odiaxere and Lagos Este. Follow the exit road to the first roundabout and take the first exit right onto the main EN125 road towards Lagos.
When approaching the outskirts of Lagos you will pass between two BP Garages. The road will then bear to the right and become a dual carriageway. Pingo Doce supermarket is on the left.
At the next roundabout take the second exit towards Lagos.
Keep in the right hand lane for about 200 metres and fork off onto the first road on your right. This is sign posted the EN120 towards Bensafrim, Aljezur and Lisbon.
Follow this road for about 1Km to the brow of the hill where you will see a sign to FALFEIRA. Turn left towards Falfeira.
Past the farm on the right and about 100 metres on the right hand side you will see two white houses close together the first called Casa Miradouro the other Casa Sebastiao.
Between these two houses is a small dirt road. Take this right turn. About 150 metres the 'road' forks. you will see above to the left Django's Castle, a yellow house.
Chris and Jane live in the pink house on the left just before the entrance to Django's Castle.
