Full Description of Holiday Rental Property: Les Basses Granges
The stone built character cottage, with gravelled drive for two cars, has a private terraced garden with patio and garden furniture, lawns and barbeque area with barbeque.
Inside the cottage on the ground floor is a well-equipped kitchen/dining area with refrigerator, cooker, washing machine, microwave and ample china, glasses and cooking utensils etc for four people.
There is a comfortable lounge with a woodburning stove, a radio/cassette /CD player and a selection of books and magazines.
Stairs from the lounge area lead to a spacious landing from which there is one double bedroom, with access to old stone steps leading down to the garden, one twin bedroom and a bathroom fitted with WC, washbasin and shower. All the upstairs rooms benefit from extensive views of the surrounding countryside. The cottage also has the use of a petanque court and seating area with trees and shrubs and a further lawned section.
The Location
Situated in scenic rural countryside – 3 Kilometres from the village of CLEFS, with bar/restaurant, boulangerie, post office and village shop – 9 kilometres from the old market town of BAUGE, with supermarket, a selection of shops and the Chateau of King Rene – 12 kilometres from the large town of LA FLECHE, with a choice of supermarkets, a large range of shops, swimming pool, Zoo, beach and lake and the River Le Loir, a tributary of the famous La Loire.
Also within easy reach from the cottage are many of the large towns of the region such as ANGERS with its impressive Fortress, TOURS, after Angers the largest city in the Loire Valley, a shoppers dream! LE MANS, famous for its racing, and the picturesque town of SAUMUR with its beautiful Chateau overlooking the wide expanse of the majestic River Loire.
Apart from the many Chateaux, each with its own particular charm, the area boasts many places of interest to suit most tastes, troglodyte dwellings, mushroom caves, the famous wine producers, waterways, golf, fishing, riding, oak filled forests and beautiful countryside.
Though places of interest are easily accessible, the cottage is well situated in its rural setting to provide peace and tranquility.

How to get here: DIRECTIONS FROM CALAIS and CAEN TO LES BASSES GRANGES
From Calais take the A26 towards Boulogne – signs will also say Tunnel Sous La Manche – keep following the Blue signs for Boulogne and when you reach Boulogne pick up ticket at the toll (Peage). This takes you onto the autoroute straight to Rouen. Follow the Red A16/Green E402 signs to Rouen.
When nearing Abbeville follow Blue signs for A28/E402 Rouen (Sortie 23) paying at the toll then follow the Blue A28/Green E402 signs towards Rouen.
At the end of the autoroute on the outskirts of Rouen keep following the green Rouen signs.
NOTE: It takes approximately 2 hours to get to Rouen.
Following the Green Rouen signs you will go through the tunnel and this road takes you round Rouen for quite a while before you get to the A13.
Follow the Autres Directions then Green E402/Blue Paris/Green Le Mans D18 to A13 Caen NOT Paris.
At Caen join the Peripherique EST at Junction 1. Follow the Peripherique to sortie 13 and take the N158 to Falaise.
Continue on the N158 to Argentan, Sees and then Alencon.
At Alencon take the N138 to Le Mans.
At Le Mans pick up the autoroute A11 towards Nantes/Angers.
Exit the autoroute at Sortie 10 and take the D306 towards La Fleche.
At La Fleche follow the Green signs for Tours.
After leaving La Fleche follow the signs for Bauge (Green sign for Saumur). Keep on this road until you reach the first roundabout. Go straight ahead towards Bauge. At next roundabout go straight ahead still following signs for Bauge.
You then need to take the 2nd exit on your right - NOT SIGNPOSTED (just after the concrete electricity tower on your right) (exit on left says Vaulandry). If you go past the Jardin du Baugeoise on your right, you have missed the turning. Continue to next crossroads and go straight ahead. You will come to a sharp left hand bend, which has a beautiful view - please be careful at this bend. The road then descends and Les Basses Granges is the 4th cottage on your left.
